Overview

Jack M. Hartman serves in an Of-Counsel capacity at CGA Law Firm. Jack was the previous Chair of the Litigation Group and has appeared before the state and federal trial and appellate courts of Pennsylvania for over forty-five years on behalf of individuals, and business & health care clients in complex civil litigation. Former Senior Vice President, Legal Services, Geisinger Health System, Jack’s health care practice includes representation of physicians, hospitals, and health care systems in integration strategies, regulatory compliance, reimbursement issues, provider contracting, medical staff issues and employment contracts.

Jack has extensive civil litigation experience including numerous jury and non-jury trials in state and federal court and arbitration involving contracts, construction, products liability, professional liability, business, employment, real estate, environmental, health and administrative law, and fraud. Jack holds an AV Preeminent® peer review rating by Martindale-Hubbell®.

He has served as a professional mediator and arbitrator in a wide range of legal matters for almost twenty years and now provides alternative dispute resolution services through CGA Law Firm.

A graduate of Davidson College and The Dickinson School of Law, Jack began his legal career as a Captain in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps before establishing his private law practice throughout Central Pennsylvania. He has served on the Court Relations and Court Rules Committees and the Arbitration Panels of both the Dauphin and Cumberland County Bar Associations and as a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and various defense and health care associations, both locally and at the state and national level. He is currently an active member of the York County Bar Association.

Jack has been a featured presenter for the National Health Lawyers Association, the National Oncology Practice Alliance, the Georgia Society of Clinical Oncologists, the Pennsylvania Society of Internal Medicine, the Pennsylvania Trial Judges and the Pennsylvania Superior Court Health Law and Medical Malpractice Sessions.
